katie's pink & glitter-y charleston bachelorette!
Happy Labor Day, y'all!
I'm super excited because today we're featuring one of our very first bachelorette parties that we hosted in Charleston! Katie Love (of Katie Love Social - check her out on Instagram!) traveled to Charleston earlier this August to celebrate her last fling before the ring, and Kay & Co was so happy to provide our signature Charleston Welcome Package for her and nine other lovely ladies! I'm amped to share what we did for Katie with y'all -- read on to learn more about our Charleston Welcome, as well as see how Katie & her girls took full advantage of their weekend in Charleston!
First off: I was in touch with Katie's sister a few weeks before their trip and Jennifer was super helpful in providing me with a few key details about Katie! I learned that she loves all things pink and glittery, and also discovered that she doesn't drink too much -- these details plus a few other fun facts about Katie made it easy for me to plan out what I was going to do for her decoration package. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I'll spare you a bit of reading and use pictures to show y'all what we did!

As I mentioned in the caption, I had picked up cookies and cupcakes (in Katie's favorite flavors!) from Sugar Bakeshop, and Bullfish Cookie Company baked me those adorable diamond-ring cookies. I hand-crafted a Strawberry Pimm's Cup mocktail for Katie (who doesn't drink much), and I also DIY'd a ton of photo booth props (with help from Etsy and Hatchcove Designs) for the girls to have fun with while they were hanging at the house. Katie's group had rented a beautiful, spacious house on the Peninsula near King Street, making it easy for them to walk to the nightlife as well as grab an Uber for their plantation visit and the morning they spent on Shem Creek. Plus, this beautiful house made it easy for me to make our welcome package look amazing!
After getting settled into the house on Friday afternoon, the girls embarked on a busy, perfect weekend in Charleston! Activities included a late-night dessert run to Carmella's, a walking tour of Charleston's Alleys & Hidden Passages, a morning spent paddle-boarding, and a few of Charleston's best restaurants. I loved the wide range of activities that the girls decided to do -- Charleston has so much history to offer (obviously.. the city is a casual three hundred years old), but we've also got lots to do in terms of nightlife and outdoor activities. Paddle-boarding is a favorite of mine, especially during the hot month of August, and the many walking tours that Charleston has to offer are all super cool. Plus, who can say no to a dessert bar on a Friday night?! Carmella's has the best milkshakes, like, for real.

Katie and her girls definitely made the most of their weekend in Charleston -- their mix of history, nightlife, great restaurants, outdoor activities, & downtime sounds absolutely perfect! That's the great thing about Charleston -- we've got every activity, for every occasion! Here's what Katie had to say:
"We did 'A Charleston Welcome [Champagne & Decor]' package and absolutely fell in love with the way Randi decorated the house we rented for all the girls! I'm the bride and it made the whole weekend extra special! I definitely recommend Kay & Co if you're having a party and want to take things up a notch. The cookies, champagne, banners, balloons, were incredible. She also works hard to make sure the decorations are part of the theme of your weekend and includes your hashtag. SUPER CUTE! Don't think, just do it!"
Kay & Co was so happy to help make Katie's bachelorette weekend absolutely perfect -- and we'd love to do that for you, too, whether you're planning a bachelorette, wedding weekend, girls' weekend, or another occasion!
