Mirelle's picks: my fav rooftop bars in Charleston
Hey guys, Mirelle here! I am Kay and Co’s favorite intern… well I’m the only intern, still the favorite nevertheless. I am a student at the College of Charleston and I am going to give y’all a fresh look at Charleston through the eyes of a college senior. Over the past four years I’ve picked up a few tips and tricks that I can’t wait to share. One of my favorite things to do here is go to a rooftop bar for happy hour. Nothing beats booze and views! Here are a couple of my fav spots!
STARS
STARS rooftop is on the top of my list. It has beautiful 360 views of Charleston, the only rooftop that offers this, and pairs it with delicious eats and drinks. This is the perfect spot if you want to watch the sunset over the city or even just dress up with your girls and have a classy night out.
Extras:
Happy hour Mon-Thurs 4-7
Private event available for rooftop
Uptown Social
This bar is full of energy and is the perfect place to go for day drinking or dancing under the stars to a number of amazing DJs. Uptown Social is an upscale sports bar that offers delicious bar snacks and fun frozen drinks. They even offer some exercise classes so you can work off all of those pizza bites you ate the night before. I love coming here and watching a game or dancing my heart out since you might as well be exercising while you drink. Definitely worth a visit.
Extras:
Happy hour Mon-Fri 4-8 (entire bar half price)
Pour Taproom
Pour is one of my go to’s since it has a unique system of ‘pay for what you pour.’ Basically you pour yourself however much of whatever you want and you pay for exactly that. No more buying another beer and only wanting half of it! This is perfect if you’re like me and don’t want to spend a ton of money on drinks and like trying different varieties of beer. Their rooftop offers a beautiful view of downtown plus fun games to play while you drink.
Bonus: Blind Tiger Pub
This is by far one of my favorite bars. It is located on historical Broad Street and isn’t a rooftop but has one of the cutest patios. Its a dog friendly restaurant which I love for my two pups. Plus they offer a huge punch bowl of a Moscow mule which is great to share and my favorite $10 mimosa carafes. This is the perfect place for brunch, happy hour, or late night drinks. It has it all.
Extras:
happy hour Mon-Fri 4:30-7
Dog Friendly
