Kaitlin’s picks: the top brunches for a Charleston bachelorette

Hi friends, Kaitlin here! When I’m not creating magic for Kay + Co, I run a brunch inspired instagram page, because brunch is my absolute favorite meal. Brunch has become a staple around Charleston. There are new brunch places popping up everywhere plus more & more restaurants are adding brunch to their weekend menus! These are my top picks for brunch in Charleston.

  1. The mill street tavern

When it comes to brunch, the folks at The Mill Street Tavern know what they are doing! This is my top pick for brunch. With gorgeous views + even better food it’s a hard one to beat. They have my favorite espresso martini, hands down. Their brunch menu, especially the apps, changes pretty frequently. Most of their entrees stay the same all year round. The steak + eggs is a personal fave. I have yet to experience anything here that wasn’t delicious, so you can’t go wrong with whatever you decide to order!

2. Holey City Bagels

One thing Charleston has always lacked is a good bagel shop. Well fear no more, because there’s a new shop in town. As soon as I heard about Holey City Bagels I was beyond excited. I’m a sucker for a good bagel! Located in the Cannonborough area it has become quite popular since opening. If you see a line down the sidewalk don’t let that stop you from waiting. The hostess at the front of the line will give you an estimate on how long the wait might be. The bagel flavors are first come, first serve so once they’re out of something then it’s gone for the day. Be sure to stop in early to have the widest selection!

3. Post house inn

I officially found my favorite french toast in Charleston when I visited Post House. I love when there’s macerated berries on top of french toast. It creates the perfect syrup. Not too sweet, but still a super refreshing flavor! The back bar burger is another top pick from their brunch menu. It’s a smash style burger, which we prefer. Their special sauce + pickles make for a great addition to the already delicious burger.

4. Indaco

An aperol spritz for brunch? Count me all the way in! Indaco has my favorite spritz in all of Charleston. They offer Italian dishes with a twist + traditional breakfast dishes as well. My top picks from here are their ricotta toast with local jam and the breakfast pizza! If you can’t make it in for brunch then Indaco is another top pick for dinner in Charleston.

5. Park & Grove

Known for it’s seasonal eats, Park & Grove is another great pick for brunch. One of our favorite things about this restaurant is the easy parking! One of the biggest struggles in Charleston is the parking situation, so whenever a restaurant has easy access parking it automatically moves to the top! Park & Grove has some fun cocktails here. They’re the perfect start to your meal! All of their pastry selections are to die for.

6. 82 Queen

When it comes to outdoor dining, this spot is my top pick! They have quaint tables setup all over their courtyard. If you have a larger party, there’s 1 table set under a gazebo and we highly suggest requesting that spot. It would make for the perfect spot if you’re having brunch with the girls or celebrating someone’s birthday. 82 Queen is another restaurant to go to if you want to get the full Charleston experience!

Make sure you have brunch at least once on your next trip to Charleston! It’s the perfect meal to get any day started. Feel free to follow my brunch page @chsbrunchvibes for more recs :)

Kaitlin
